With over 15 years experience in food manufacturing and farming in Dairy, Poultry, vegetables, biscuits & snacks in the UK, China, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia & Thailand coupled with 11 years of experience with A S Watson’s food retailing in Hong Kong and Mainland China, Peter is a recognized food safety pioneer. He has successfully developed ParknShop’s Fresh Check System, which involves ensuring food safety throughout the supply chain and includes traceability systems and the challenges this presents with fresh food from developing Countries in particular. His extensive knowledge & experience of Hong Kong’s Food Laws has also been a critical success factor.

Peter & his team continue to develop and implement traceability systems on products such as vegetables, chilled pork, chilled chicken and chicken eggs from Mainland China and is currently working on other fresh food lines.

Born in Vancouver, Canada; Peter moved with his parents to the UK at the tender age of 5 years where he lived until arriving in Hong Kong in 1992. He is a Joint Honours Graduate in Food Science and Chemistry from the University of Reading (UK), a registered Chartered Scientist (Food) with the Science Council (UK) and a Fellow & former Council Member of the Institute of Food Science & Technology (UK). He is also a Founding Governing Board Member of the Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre and an Appointed Member of the Expert Committee on Food Safety of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
