| Dr. Gerd Wolfram is in charge of the business units Advanced
Technologies und Finance. With his doctorate degree in business administration,
he is responsible for the selection and implementation of new IT innovations
(Research and Innovation), alignment of the IT with the METRO Groups corporate
goals (IT-Strategy) and the procurement of hardware and software as well
as IT services for the METRO Group (IT- Procurement).
Since mid 2002, he has been managing one of the most innovative projects of the METRO Group: the Future Store Initiative. With renowned partner companies, modern technologies and systems are advanced and tested under real-live conditions. Dr. Gerd Wolfram is also a member of national and international committees which promote the standardisation of logistics and merchandise management processes in retail in the context of radio frequency identification (RFID), for example EPCglobal and GS1 Germany. |
