Operation Efficiency in New Retail
P – Purpose & Problem Solving
E – Execution
A – Acting as Role Model
C – Communication
E – Efficiency
New Retail, redefine a seamless integration of offline, online and logistics for retailing, aim to drive operational efficiency, which is recently a challenge to all over place.
With the growth of complexity of retail, the most important thing is to identify the purpose for transformation and the main problem for the existing procedure, to manage the company in a better way and figure out the appropriate approach to take. To streamline business process, new technology is a digital transformation for effective execution, which offers the flexibility, control and efficiency for both back office and frontline staff.
Besides, to smooth the implementation, a role model is influential to coordinate with colleagues and take the lead to do better communication. Communication is not only applied for internal, but also for customers. Customer service is decisive for the operational process which help to build loyalty and trigger purchase.
Finally, it is key for retailers to evaluate efficiency with measurable results and getting insights from the data. With consolidation of different aspects, driving operation efficiency will optimize the business procedure and deliver benefits to customers, resulting in successful retail whatever and wherever in which format.

Driving incremental revenue through a personalised customer experience
Is 2018 finally the year where businesses become customer, rather than internally, driven? Traditionally, companies have separated marketing, commercial and operational teams in to distinct silos – each working on their part of the business to deliver against internal targets. The customer, however, doesn’t think like this – to them, you are one brand.
Personalisation has long been spoken about in the digital world, but only recently has the concept of joined up end to end journeys become a real possibility. Through bringing together offline operational, loyalty and transactional data, with digital data, brands can now deliver on the promise of a truly personalised, online to offline, experience.
Rather than being a marketing gimmick, this can benefit companies in two key ways: operational efficiency and incremental revenue growth. A joined up data strategy can enable companies to utilise data beyond a single siloed application – it enables, companies to get closer to their customers, drive additional relevance, loyalty, operational efficiency and ultimately revenue.

The rules of customer engagement began to change in the mid 90s with the start of the dot-com boom. We’ve since transformed into a global digitally enabled, consumer/customer directed information based society. Disruption is no longer an anomaly among a select few who’ve latched onto a new, big idea. Disruption has gone mainstream with specific implications. Simply put, you are a catalyst for change, or you will be left in its wake.
In this session, we will explore Why this period in the Consumer Markets is like none before it and why acknowledging this truth is central to our success as an industry. After, we will highlight the What and How through a retailer who was daring enough to question standard conventions on their way to real transformation and new found success.

Launched in 2018 as part of Hung Fook Tong’s sales force, “HUNG+” is a smart vending kiosk unlike others. It integrates Watson – AI solutions developed by IBM – to generate instant interaction with customers and provide personalized recommendations. With the potential of translating big data into business insights, “HUNG+” is poised to seize the growing demand for customized shopping experiences through better understanding of their customers’ purchase behavior.
Revolving around the central idea of building a positive customer experience, the sharing will also touch upon the concept of unmanned shops and its potential unlocked by new technology.

Many companies today are undertaking digital transformation initiatives and exploring new technologies such as IoT, AI and Blockchain. Independently these technologies can bring many benefits but when combined they can bring even greater business value and help companies create the ‘autonomous ecosystem’ of tomorrow. However, many companies simply do not have the internal resources to explore these new technologies. Leveraging an outsourced approach to establishing a digital foundation to explore these technologies can bring many business benefits. This session discusses how OpenText Business Network can provide people, processes and technology to establish the digital foundation to enable and integrate with these disruptive technologies.
